Call for Nominations for the 2023 Election

The 2022/23 Nominating Committee is identifying potential candidates for the 2023 election. If you would like to recommend someone to serve as president or board member, or if you would like to be considered yourself, please complete this form to make a suggestion to the Nominating Committee by Monday, October 31.

Candidates must be members of the Medical Library Association. Please provide information about why you recommend the person to participate in leading our organization. Reviewing the job description for MLA President and Board of Directors may be helpful. Almost all board meetings are virtual–if you have questions about travel or time commitments, please contact me, and I would be happy to discuss them with you.

We will put forward a slate that will include at least two candidates for president-elect and at least six candidates for the three open MLA Board member positions. The committee will consider professional and leadership experience, involvement in MLA, and representation among the association’s geographic regions and diverse communities that comprise our membership. You can read more about the process for selecting candidates and electing the MLA president-elect and members of the MLA Board in Article V of the MLA Bylaws, which are accessible from MLANET (click on About MLA and then Organization from the menu).

Do not let imposter syndrome stop you from being a candidate! If you want to invest in the future of MLA and our profession, and if you have time to serve, then you are qualified to serve.

Submit your nominations by Monday, October 31, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., pacific time. Thank you for helping identify our future leaders!
