AAHSL Releases 2021 Guide for Recruiting an Academic Health Sciences Library Director

A revised version of the guide Recruiting and Selecting an Academic Health Sciences Library Director is now available on the AAHSL website. The AAHSL Future Leadership Committee has reviewed and updated this guide that has been available to the health sciences library community over the past twenty years. The 2021 edition has key concepts highlighted at the top of each section, as well as updated bibliographic references, job postings, and salary statistics.

In addition to being useful to institutions recruiting a new AAHSL director, this guide may also be helpful to those applying for director positions.

Please feel free to share this link or download the guide and share it with administrators or other colleagues in the library community.

The guide is available on the website as a single PDF document, or each section can be downloaded separately.

The Future Leadership Committee welcomes all feedback about the guide to ensure it is relevant and useful to the recruitment of AAHSL library leaders. Suggestions may be sent to plthibodeau@gmail.com or any member of the committee.
