The staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin Libraries-Milwaukee created a take off on a VH-1 cable television series with their "Behind the Librarian" display. Using photos and biographical sketches, the library staff gave their patrons an opportunity to get to know the people who make their library work.

Offering patrons a look back in time, the library staff at Lifespan Libraries/Rhode Island Hospital used items ranging from antiquated books to computers for their "Medical Information: Then & Now" display for NMLM.

A paper bag, an NMLM poster, a well-made sign, index cards and some candy hugs and kisses were all that was needed to promote NMLM at the Delia Montes-Gallo Library, Texas Tech University. In addition to promoting the month, staff got a glimpse of what library services their patrons appreciate most.
