Benchmarking Chapter Liaisons (BCLs)
Benchmarking Chapter Liaisons are appointed by the Chapters to help chapter members participate in the MLA Benchmarking Network.
BCLs by Region
Role of the BCL
BCLs should proactively communicate with all Chapter members and with BCLs from other Chapters. BCLs also:
- Serve as the authority in the Chapter on MLA Benchmarking Network
- Attend training sessions at annual meetings as scheduled and necessary
- Arrange informational sessions at Chapter meetings to discuss the Benchmarking Network and to encourage participation
- Write regular benchmarking updates for Chapter Newsletters and communicate via Chapter discussion lists.
- Receive regular updates from Benchmarking Network Editorial Board (BNEB) concerning progress on Network.
- Receive regular updates from MLA Headquarters on participation levels in the Benchmarking Network data collection efforts.
- Actively communicate with other BCLs through the BCL discussion list (e.g., report results from Chapter sessions)
