Calling All Hospital Librarians

Monday afternoon from 3:30-4:55, HLS will hold its now annual Ice Cream Social/Business Meeting in room 620.

Come meet, greet and share a treat before business begins. Julie Esparza, our incoming Chair will preside with reports from the Strategic Planning Committee. I  heard a rumor from a very reliable source, that President Elect-very soon to be MLA President, Barbara Epstein will be joining us.  Readers of MedLib-L know she shares our concerns about hospital libraries closing and librarians losing jobs. Another rumor I heard, is that it will important for Hospital Librarians to hear her inaugural address on Tuesday morning because she has a special message for hospital librarians.  I know I am eager to hear what Barbara has to say.

At the meeting, the new edition to the Scroll of Exemplary Service will be displayed. The Scroll now overflows to a second poster board. Is your name on the Scroll? It should be.  All you have to do is make a small difference for MLA, your work or your community.  There is no doubt in my mind that all HLS member's names should be on the Scroll. Once you are on, you remain on.

Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow at the HLS Meeting.
