Clinical Reference Essentials for Everyday Practice

I had a great time during the Welcome Reception last night, meeting other librarians and chatting with vendors (and collecting pens!). I spent some time at the Medscape table, which was a resource I was vaguely familiar with but had never actually explored.

What surprised me about this resource is that its features are free to use. Once you create a free account, you have access to medical news and special reports, drug monographs, clinical procedure and disease articles, and CME/CE activities.

Another interesting feature is Medscape Consult, which is a physician-only case-sharing network. You must be registered as a physician on your Medscape account in order to use Consult. It allows physicians to talk about real-world clinical cases with their peers from around the world.

Be sure to stop by their booth (#531), especially since they are doing a raffle for an iPad! Check them out online at http://www.medscape.com/today.
