Getting from the SeaTac Airport to the Convention Center

Traveling from SeaTac Airport and wonder how to get all the way to downtown Seattle? You have a number of options.

Light Rail

The Sound Transit Link Light Rail connects SeaTac International Airport to the downtown Seattle area. The Sea-Tac Airport has helpful information on how to get from baggage claim to the light rail station (about a .4 mile/.65 km walk). From the light rail station, allow around 40 min travel time to downtown. Once downtown, you will disembark at the Westlake Station, which is 3 blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. The cost to ride the light rail is $3.00 one way. Tickets can be purchased via an app from your phone or at stations, or you purchase a reloadable ORCA card. The Link runs frequently: check schedules and locations.

Note: If you are using ORCA card, make sure to tap your card at one of the yellow validation stands when entering and departing the ticketing area (not necessary if using one-way ticket).

Shuttle Express:

Shuttle Express, a less expensive option than taxis, will transport you from the SeaTac International Airport to your hotel. From baggage claim, cross sky bridge 4 to the airport parking garage and go to the 3rd floor. Shuttle Express is in the center of the Ground Transportation Plaza. Many downtown hotels, including the Seattle Sheraton Hotel are serviced by the Scheduled Hotel Service and the Downtown Airporter. The Shared Ride option is great for getting out to neighborhoods. Check with Shuttle Express to see which option is best for you.

Taxis and Ride Shares:

At SeaTac Airport taxis and ride-sharing companies (Uber, Lyft) are available on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. Most rides to downtown run from about $40-55, without a tip. Visit the ground transportation booth, also on the 3rd floor, if you need more information.

Car Rentals:

Rental car companies are located in a building separate from the airport. Free shuttles from the airport to the car rental facility run 24/7 from outside the baggage claim on the north and south ends of the main terminal.
