The North Atlantic Health Science Libraries (NAHSL) chapter of MLA is excited to be “Blazing the Trail” with a new conference format. On October 20, 2017, NAHSL will hold the first of its one-day conferences in its new alternating one-day and three-day conference format cycle.

The highest honor that MLA confers is the Marcia C. Noyes Award. Jean P. Shipman, AHIP, FMLA, University of Utah–Salt Lake City, received the 2017 Marcia C. Noyes Award at MLA ’17 in Seattle, Washington.
The number of homeless people in Seattle and King County continues to rise, with more than 4,000 people sleeping on the streets in a recent count. Mary’s Place in Seattle—which provides services for homeless women, children, and families—has been chosen for the MLA ’17 service project.
