RTI Seeks Scholarship Aid from Sections and Chapters

Susan Lessick, AHIP, FMLA, project director, Research Training Institute, sent a letter on January 23 to the chairs of MLA sections and chapters encouraging them to consider funding scholarship aid for the health sciences librarians who will participate in MLA’s 2018 Research Training Institute (RTI).

The RTI’s Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant and a generous contribution from the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) will fund ten scholarships for RTI fellows. However, we need help to provide scholarship aid for the remaining ten fellows, including those with limited means to attend the institute. Our goal is to offer financial support to all the librarians attending the 2018 RTI. The deadline is February 14, 2018, and we are hoping for very positive responses from our sections and chapters to support the research education for the next generation of health information professionals.

Please contact Susan Lessick or Mary Langman, MLA director of information issues and policy, with questions.
