Chapter News: Pacific Northwest Chapter Business Meeting at MLA ’17

Edited by Jennifer K. Lloyd, AHIP

The Pacific Northwest Chapter (PNC)/MLA is holding its business meeting at MLA ’17 on Monday, May 29, from 3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m., in Room 611 of the Washington State Convention Center. We welcome all who are interested in connecting with their colleagues, whether or not they are PNC members.

In addition to the usual business meeting agenda items, we also will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Health Evidence Resource for Washington State (HEALWA)!

We also will discuss several task forces that are being formed to conduct specific, time-limited projects for which we need member involvement. These task forces include efforts related to strategic planning, on-boarding, documentation harmonization, the website, and professional development and continuing education. If you are interested in becoming involved but do not want to commit to becoming an officer or otherwise serving on the PNC Board, these are great opportunities!

Come to our meeting, get to know some of your colleagues, find out what the PNC is doing, and learn about the upcoming opportunities to get involved in your regional medical library member association. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you have questions about this meeting or about anything regarding the PNC, please contact Laura Zeigen, AHIP, OHSU Library, Oregon Health & Science University–Portland.
