2009/2010 Election Candidates Announced
The Medical Library Association (MLA) is pleased to announce the slate for the upcoming 2009/10 MLA election. The MLA Nominating Committee, chaired by MLA Past-President Jean Shipman, AHIP, has presented the following candidates for president-elect, Board of Directors, and Nominating Committee positions. Those elected officials will begin their terms following MLA '09 in Honolulu, HI. MLA members will be able to cast their electronic ballots from November 5–December 10, 2008. Members without email addresses on file at MLA headquarters will receive paper ballots in the mail the first week in November. Election results will be announced in December.
MLA President-elect candidates are:
- Margaret M. Bandy, AHIP, manager, Library and Media Services, Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, Denver, CO
- Ruth Holst, AHIP, FMLA, associate director, NN/LM, Greater Midwest Region, Library of the Health Sciences, University of Illinois–Chicago
Candidates for the two open positions on the MLA board of directors are:
- Javier Crespo, associate director, NN/LM, Northeast Region, Lamar Soutter Library, University of Massachusetts Medical School–Shrewsbury
- Jo Dorsch, AHIP, director, Library of the Health Sciences–Peoria, University of Illinois–Chicago
- Cynthia L. Henderson, AHIP, library director, Library of Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA
- Kathleen Ann McKibbon, director and associate professor, Faculty of the Health Sciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada
MLA members will consider the following candidates to fill the nine open slots on the MLA Nominating Committee:
