To enter the MLA Members Only area...
You need your MLA ID# Your ID# is your MLANET username. ID#s appear on your MLA membership card.
You need your MLANET PASSWORD PASSWORDS are assigned randomly by MLA and appear on your membership card and consist of three UPPERCASE letters followed by several numerals.

  • Advocacy Toolbox
    This Web version of MLA's "Advocacy Toolbox: A Practical Guide To Communicating Your Value" offers both HTML and PDF versions of the information contained on cards sent to MLA members with the Journal of the Medical Library Association (JMLA). The HTML version will be enhanced with more success stories and additional resources as they become available.

  • Apply for an MLA Committee
    Some of MLA's greatest assets are the energy, expertise, and ideas that come from the volunteer efforts of its members. Join the more than 200 MLA members who volunteer their time and expertise in support of MLA initiatives, and gain leadership skills, expand your professional network of colleagues, and help MLA be responsive to member needs. (Available through October 31)

  • Benchmarking Network
    This MLA initiative offers hospital, academic, and specialty health libraries an opportunity to learn more about benchmarking, compare data, establish best practices, and identify and work with a benchmarking partner. Participants in the 2004 data collection process can now view the results on the Interactive Reporting site in the MLANET Resources area. Watch for additional resources available to members during the winter and spring.
  • Designing Web-based Continuing Education Tutorial
    Intended for current continuing education instructors who already have an understanding of teaching and adult learning principles, this Web-based tutorial is designed to take you through the process of formatting your continuing education (CE) content for delivery via the Web.

  • Members Directory
    Find colleagues faster—and with up-to-date info—online! Updated daily by members, MLA's online member directory is a secure way to locate your peers and view or update your own information.

  • Members Professional Toolbox
    The Professional Toolbox is a tool for members that makes widely dispersed resources available in a single location. This database of Web-based tools on a variety of topics and from a variety of sources, are selected by MLA members, for MLA members. Use these tools to continually learn, teach, and sharpen your professional skills!

  • MLA / Hay Group Study

Visit the executive summary of MLA's Hay Study to see how medical librarian compensation and skills compare with IT professionals...and how this information can help you.
