Sync or Swim: Managing the Flood of PDAs in Health Care

The MLA-PDA Email Discussion List

This e-mail discussion list was created for the Sync or Swim: Managing the Flood of PDAs in Health Care program and serves as a continuing vehicle to exchange ideas, solve problems, ask questions, and get information. Participation is optional. The best part is that it is easy to use.

To top of page The discussion list manager software is called Majordomo. Majordomo has two functions:

  1. To receive and automatically route messages to subscribers.
  2. To respond to commands from users such as “subscribe” and “unsubscribe.”

To top of page To Subscribe to the MLA-PDA Discussion List

  1. Send an e-mail message to majordomo@mlahq.org (This address can also be used to send commands to Majordomo.)
  2. Type the message “subscribe mla-pda” (This will command Majordomo to subscribe the sender to the e-mail discussion list.) Please leave the subject line blank.

To top of page To Send Messages on the MLA-PDA Discussion List

  1. Send your e-mail messages to the address mla-pda@mlahq.org. Majordomo will send you a confirmation that your message was distributed. Do not send commands to this address.
  2. Type your message and send it to others on the list.

To top of page If You Get An Error Message

Majordomo’s command structure is user-friendly, but very unforgiving on typos. Just like dialing a telephone number, if your entry has even one incorrect number or letter, you get incorrect results. Double check the address and command.
