Promoting the Course

Once you have the course built and ready to offer, you'll need to let people know it is available. Promoting your course may be as simple as contacting MLA and asking that they publish an announcement that registration is open, or may involve a more organized campaign. If you have a particular group who would be interested in taking your course, you may want to send a targeted mailing or post a message about your course on their email list. You may want to post something to Medlib-l. You may request that MLA put something in an MLA-FOCUS. Once your course is offered, word of mouth from those who have taken the course may also provide you with additional promotion. Consider how many spaces are in your course and what you will do if demand for the course is greater than expected. Will you start a waiting list?
