Survival Tips and Stories: Expanding the Library's Services in Times of Disaster

The goal of this program is to provide a basic understanding of disaster planning and service continuity, assess the effect of disaster on health sciences library services, and provide a basic template for disaster planning.

Objectives

  • understand the basics of service continuity
  • recognize other services the library can offer in the event of a disaster
  • understand the importance of risk assessment for your geographic area
  • introduce the importance of buddy or backup libraries
