Special Reference and Research Librarian

Responsibilities: Evaluate information needs and perform reference interviews to clarify keywords to be used in searches; construct search strategies. Conduct complex searches and perform research, searching a variety of specialized databases such as the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed, ProQuest Dialog, FEDRIP, BIOSIS, EMBASE, AGRICOLA, DTIC, and Biomedical Research Database (BRD), and others. Provide timely access to biomedical information regardless of original format or location. Hold responsibility for library web page (updates and content).

Required: American Library Association–accredited master’s degree in library science. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience in searching specialized databases mentioned above. Experience using Voyager.

Preferred: SharePoint experience preferred. Experience supporting a federal agency preferred.
