Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences, Tulane University, seeks skilled, creative applicants for the position of research impact analyst. This newly created position, based in the Matas Health Sciences Library, will help measure the impact of faculty published research and will assist in raising the profile of Tulane’s researchers in the science, technology, engineering, medicine (STEM) disciplines. The research impact analyst will provide analyses of bibliometric data; offer specialized support for existing and emerging applications of impact data; and assist administrators, researchers, faculty, and graduate students with grant reporting requirements, publishing services, bibliometrics for research studies, and assistance with clinical trials investigations.
Required: The most attractive candidate for this role will have a master’s degree in science (health sciences preferred) with demonstrated experience in research analysis. master’s in library or library and information science (MLS/MLIS) degree from an American Library Association–accredited graduate program or its equivalent with a strong science and informatics background is equally acceptable. Other requirements include: experience with research impact metrics, bibliometrics, and relevant related resources (e.g. ORCID, VIVO-based profiles, NCBI My Bibliography); demonstrated experience providing services related to research impact, altmetrics, and bibliometrics via training, instruction, or consultation; experience providing research assistance, conducting online searches across multiple resources/platforms using advanced searching techniques; and strong interpersonal skills in relationship building, communication, outreach, cooperation building, and collaboration across diverse populations and groups.
