Metadata Transformation Librarian

Stanford University’s School of Medicine is seeking a motivated and resourceful metadata librarian (librarian 1 or 2) responsible for capturing, creating, transforming, and integrating bibliographic and authority metadata using various systems to optimize resource discovery. Reporting to the metadata department manager, the metadata transformation librarian will be an integral part of helping to define and investigate the evolution of metadata, including long-term solutions for metadata interoperability and management. With an emphasis on data integration and relationships, Lane’s metadata department endeavors to go beyond traditional cataloging. Examples include: driving web interfaces with derived data and building records from extracted data sets. We are seeking dynamic candidates with potential to enhance our efforts to provide creative solutions while maintaining a tradition of excellence. The position works closely with other staff to influence and achieve our collective goals in support of the school’s research, clinical, and educational mission.
