Here's my list of 13 lucky things that I'm packing for MLA'18:
- Yoga mat and comfortable clothes. Hospital Libraries Section is sponsoring free yoga Sunday morning at 7:30-8:30 in the Piedmont Room, International Tower, Atlanta Conference Center Level. Bianca Spicer, a local instructor will lead us. It’s a great way to get your mind and body ready for an exhilarating MLA'18.
- Your meeting schedule and goals to accomplish at the meeting.
- Business Cards to network and drop in the vendor fish bowls for prices. I won a TV one year.
- Camera to photograph your old and new friends, interesting posters, interesting PowerPoint slides, even though they are available online.
- Chargers for phone, iPad, laptop and camera.
- Rain Poncho or small umbrella. Weather forecast has showers every day.
- Cash and credit card. When not in use, put in the safe. Bring a check to purchase items, raffle tickets and giving in the MLA'18 Scholarship Booth.
- Business and casual clothes for 80 degree weather outside during the day and 60s in the evening. Maybe a sweater or blazer for air-conditioned hotel rooms.
- Your medications. Don’t forget the pills and whatever else you need.
- Extra pad, pen, and pencils for note-taking.
- Snacks that travel well.
- Photos of the family and whatever else you want to share.
- Needed passwords, phone numbers, email addresses, or street addresses of needed resources and people.
