The Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group (NCNMLG) is pleased to announce its support for the American Library Association (ALA) Spectrum Scholarship. NCNMLG wanted to support diversity and inclusion efforts for librarianship in a meaningful way. We considered several different ideas and, in the end, decided to support the Spectrum Scholarship.
One of our members, Rachel Keiko Stark, AHIP, University Library, California State University–Sacramento, is a Spectrum Scholar. Stark appreciates “Being a Spectrum Scholar [because it] provided me with more than financial support and a professional family, it also provided me with exceptional training and tools that have helped me realize my professional goals and allowed me to become the librarian I am today.”
NCNMLG is pleased to contribute to the Spectrum Scholarship and give another deserving person the opportunity to join this marvelous profession of librarianship. NCNMLG plans to offer mentorship, support, and guidance to a Spectrum Scholar who is interested in medical or health sciences librarianship. We are honored to be a Spectrum Scholarship partner!
