The Pennsylvania State University Libraries, Penn State College of Medicine, University Park Regional Campus: The Harrell Health Sciences Library (HSL): Research & Learning Commons seeks a dynamic and innovative librarian to support the expanding Penn State College of Medicine (COM), University Park Regional Campus, State College, Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Harrell HSL associate dean and director, the incumbent will be embedded at the regional medical campus. The incumbent will provide a broad range of information services and will take a leadership role in developing and enhancing the library’s educational program and coordinate instructional activities to support students, faculty, staff, and researchers located at the regional medical campus.
Required: Requires a master’s of library science (MLS) degree from an American Library Association–accredited institution (or equivalent); some experience in medical library environment; knowledge of evidence-based practice principles and awareness of current trends in academic health sciences libraries; experience designing and delivering instruction or training; knowledge of and experience with health/science, technology, engineering, medicine (STEM) databases and resources including expert literature searching skills.
Salary: This is a 3-year nontenure track, fixed-term, renewable faculty appointment, with a minimum starting salary of $60,000 per year.
