The South Central Chapter of MLA (SCC/MLA) invites proposals for its upcoming annual meeting, to be held October 19–24, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. The SCC/MLA Program Committee welcomes submissions for contributed papers, posters, lightning talks, and roundtables. The submission deadline is July 10, 2018. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by August 15, 2018.
Contributed paper and poster proposals should be submitted in structured abstract format. Proposals will undergo blind review by the Papers and Posters Subcommittees of the Program Committee.
Contributed papers are allotted twenty minutes each (fifteen minutes for presentation and five minutes for questions). Lightning talks provide attendees with valuable information in a less formal manner than a contributed paper or poster and are allotted four minutes each (two minutes for presentation and two minutes for questions). Roundtables serve to promote discussion among attendees who have a shared interest in a topic, idea, workflow, or product. The emphasis is on informal open discussion and the generation of new ideas.

About the meeting
This will be SCC/MLA’s 45th annual meeting, and we will gather in San Antonio as the city celebrates its tercentennial.
