MLA offers one free lunch ticket per topic to new members (MLA member for five years or less) who register via the online registration system. Free tickets are paid by chapter donations and MLA and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To select a free ticket, choose Chapter Council Presents Sharing Roundtable “free lunch” in the optional ticket section of the online registration form. Select your desired topic from the drop-down box. If your topic is grayed-out, this topic has already been taken; however, tickets are still available for purchase.

The free ticket will be added to your registration and show on your confirmation letter with a price of zero. When you arrive at the meeting, you will receive a lunch ticket with your selected topic printed on it. At the lunch, you must sit at the table for your designated topic. International and National Outreach Programs: Learning From Each Other

In the current era of globalization, a number of libraries in the industrialized world have developed international outreach projects. In North America and Europe, programs have been developed on the national, regional, and local levels. Such projects have a commonality, and sharing ideas will enhance future projects and their sustainability. A panel will briefly highlight several international and national projects: their targeted audiences, strategies, successes, problems, and so on. Speakers and participants will share their ideas and experiences. If you are involved in such projects, or interested in learning more, please attend the session and contribute to the discussion.

Leadership and Management Section Membership Survey Update

This open forum will focus on the findings from a recent survey of the membership, conducted by the MLA Leadership and Management section, on behalf of the MLA Board and the Emerging MLA Leaders Task Force. The survey has been designed to help guide MLA's planning for the future by (1) identifying aspects of professional association membership that are particularly of value to MLA members and (2) gathering input to help shape MLA's strategic directions going forward. The open forum offers an opportunity to share your perspective on these important issues. Come express your views.

MLA's Disaster Information Specialization

During this open forum, MLA will introduce its new Disaster Information Specialization program. The specialization was developed in cooperation with the National Library of Medicine (NLM). It offers an approved curriculum of courses so that participants can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to support their libraries, institutions, and communities in times of disaster or other emergencies. Upon completion, participants will receive certificates acknowledging their educational effort. MLA and NLM staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

Game Changing Resumes, Cover Letters, and Interviews

Need tips and techniques for your resume? CV? Cover Letter? Interview? MLA's Professional Recruitment and Retention Committee invites you to this open forum to learn techniques that can enhance your employment opportunities in hospital or academic libraries. The forum will also include an
