Government information has long been considered
a unique and separate area of reference service, with its own classification
schemes, Internet domains, and most importantly, its own specialist
librarians. But current government information, which has made a
transition from print formats to free, Web formats probably faster
and more comprehensively than any other genre of information, is
more accessible to nongovernment specialists than ever before. This
session will empower participants to discover and use the wealth
of statistical and regulatory information that is available from
governments.
