Based on Daniel Goleman's work as described in two of his books, Emotional Intelligence and Primal Leadership, this workshop will introduce participants to the principles and practices of emotional intelligence, especially as they apply to effective leadership in library organizations today. Among the topics to be addressed are understanding emotional intelligence, practices for effective leadership in today's workplace, emotional intelligence competencies, leadership styles, assessment of emotional intelligence competencies, and management of emotions and relationships for effective leadership.
