MLA Mentoring Program Task Force

Activities

1. The Mentor Task Force continues to receive information and comments from various MLA affiliates, e.g., sections, chapters, etc. regarding their involvement in mentoring activities. This information will be used to bring insight and coordination to the design and implementation of a "comprehensive" mentor program.

2. As of March 14, 2000, the mla-mentor listserv has 15 subscribers. Some of the subscribers have self-identifed as "very interested" in mentoring activities and in the development of a mentor program.

3. The Task Force will convene at the Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC, on Sunday May 7, 2000, 7:00am - 9:00am at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Governor General A.

4. To further promote and publicize the creation and work of the the Task Force, the Chair requested that the Task Force's name and charge be added to MLANET under the "Ad Hoc Committee and Task Force Charges" section.

This report is informational and requires no action by the Board of Directors.
