Annual Report 1999/2000 

Bylaws Committee

The MLA Bylaws Committee developed the objectives listed below which support the goal of Organization in the 1999/2000 MLA priorities. The objectives were developed during the Bylaws Committee meeting on May 18 at the 1999 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.

• To communicate with Chapter and Section Chairs about the process for revising Section and Chapter bylaws.
• Revise the model bylaws to bring them into compliance with the revised model bylaws.The draft of model bylaws will be presented to the Board of Directors for their consideration at the preconference of the annual meeting. The revised model should be ready for distribution to the Chapter and Section chairs this summer.
• Continue to monitor and work with MLA Section and Chapter chairs on the bylaws revisions. Revisions have been approved or are in process for the following sections or chapters: Medical School Library Section, Consumer and Patient Health Information Section, South Central Chapter, Midcontinental Chapter.
