Liberty Chapter Quasquicentennial Unconference

By Daniel Verbit and Michelle Bass

Last year on May 2, 2023, Liberty Chapter Board members Michelle Bass and Daniel Verbit organized a special quasquicentennial event to celebrate the meeting that resulted in the founding of our Medical Library Association. The event started with lunch at McGillin’s Olde Ale House, the oldest tavern in Philadelphia founded in 1860. This was followed by an unconference of composed of a diverse range of librarians including academic, corporate, vendor, and hospital libraries.

This was the first non-annual meeting in-person event organized by the Liberty Chapter, since 2020 and provided attendees with the opportunity to engage in discussions and network with fellow professionals. This was followed by a social hour and photo at the historical marker.
